Terms of Service

Last updated: September 19, 2026

Curbwise provides parking information and estimates. It does not give permission to park, guarantee a space, or guarantee that you will avoid a ticket or tow. Curbwise is an independent service, not NYC DOT, an enforcement agency, or a legal adviser.

1. Service availability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Curbwise is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Service interruptions and errors can occur. These terms do not remove any warranty or consumer right that the law does not allow us to exclude.

2. No guarantee of accuracy

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any parking-rule data. Curb regulations change, data sources lag, and mistakes happen. Map positions, curb boundaries, street sides, sign placement, status colors and time calculations are estimates. Government-sourced data is not a confirmation of current conditions. A recent refresh does not mean that every sign or restriction has been checked on the street.

3. You are responsible for your parking

You are responsible for deciding where to park and complying with applicable rules. Check the actual side of the street, signs and arrows along the entire block, meters, temporary notices and applicable city rules for your vehicle and your whole stay. Follow lawful directions from enforcement personnel. Some restrictions apply without a posted sign; missing signs or curb paint do not establish permission to park.

A green curb, a mapped allowance, a suggested time limit, a saved spot or a reminder is not permission to park or a promise against enforcement. If conditions are unclear or disagree with the app, do not use the app as clearance to park. See NYC's parking signs and rules guidance.

4. Safety caveats

Fire hydrants, driveways, crosswalks, curb ramps, bus stops, loading zones, vehicle-specific rules, temporary signs, construction and event restrictions may be missing or misplaced in our data. Check the actual location even when the map shows no restriction.

Reminders are a convenience and may be late or fail because of device settings, permissions, connectivity, or a closed app. Set your own reminder and verify the applicable deadline. Use Curbwise only when safely stopped; do not interact with the app while driving.

5. Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service, scrape it at volume, or submit false reports. We may suspend access for abuse.

6. Limitation of liability

Subject to the rights preserved below, and only to the extent permitted by applicable law, Curbwise and its operators exclude liability for parking citations, fines, penalties, towing, impoundment and storage charges resulting from reliance on the app's data, estimates or reminders, including claims based on ordinary negligence. This exclusion addresses those charges specifically, whether characterized as direct or indirect losses.

To the same extent, Curbwise and its operators exclude liability for indirect, incidental and consequential losses arising from use of, or inability to use, the service. Curbwise does not offer ticket insurance, an enforcement guarantee or a promise to reimburse parking charges.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability, remedy or consumer right that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited. These limitations apply only where enforceable; they do not prevent you from exercising your legal rights.

7. Trial and store subscriptions

The map, basic curb assessments, address search and nearby places are free to browse without an account. New accounts receive a 7-day trial of full parking rules and signs with 10 curb views per day. Premium includes 60 curb views per day. Other usage limits apply to both plans. Full rule access pauses when the trial ends unless Premium access is active; map browsing remains available. The app trial does not convert to a paid subscription automatically.

Premium pays for access to the described app features. It does not pay parking meters, reserve a space, provide a permit or change the parking-information limitations above.

When available in a supported app, you can explicitly subscribe through Apple on iPhone or iPad, or Google Play on Android, at the price and billing period shown before confirmation. Payment starts when you confirm the purchase; remaining days of the Curbwise trial do not delay that charge. The store manages billing and payment information. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before renewal; for Apple, cancel at least 24 hours before renewal.

Use Restore purchases in Account & settings on the original store's platform to check an existing purchase while signed in to the Curbwise account used for that purchase. Premium access can be used on other supported devices with the same Curbwise account, but billing stays with the original store. Manage or cancel in Apple Account or Google Play subscription settings, as applicable. Deleting your Curbwise account or the app does not cancel a store subscription.

Refund requests follow the applicable store's rules; approval is not guaranteed. See Apple cancellation, Apple refunds, Google Play cancellation and Google Play refunds.
